Lesya Nakoneczny's work considers identity, the psyche, and interpersonal relationships through an intermedia practice based in video, photography, performance, and sound. Gender, sexuality, and the uncanny are secondary exploratory pathways in their practice. Nakoneczny attempts to create works that are disorienting yet familiar, contemplative, immersive, and hypnotic. Their major points of departure are mental and physical experiences of embodiment, and the aesthetics of emotion.
